DEREK HILL is the author of Charlie Kaufman and Hollywood’s Merry Band of Pranksters, Fabulists and Dreamers (Kamera Books), a study of the films of Charlie Kaufman and others. He also contributed to the books The Philosophy of Charlie Kaufman, edited by David LaRocca (University Press of Kentucky), Directory of World Cinema: Japan, and Directory of World Cinema: American Independent (Intellect). He has written for a number of print and online publications, including Paste, Little White Lies, The Playlist, AllMovie (formerly The All-Movie Guide), and many others. He is a former movie reviewer for the Athens, Georgia alternative newsweekly Flagpole, contributing editor/movie critic for the online arts journal Sinescope, and a book reviewer for Mystery Scene magazine. He currently hides out in Eugene, Oregon.
